To protect the base of the pan from scratches, it's a good idea to line it with baking paper or preferably, teflon liner.
I managed to get teflon microwave mats for 99p each from Home Bargains. They are round, flimsy teflon coated plastic mats and just need to be trimmed down to fit the base. Each one is washable and will last up to 5 yrs apparently, but they do get a bit crumply after a couple of months use, so I bought a couple of spares. also available on ebay but watch the prices!
The rack is great too, and along with ordinary tins and glass dishes, you should be sorted.
Oooh, silicon cupcake cases are great too (£2 for 12 in Asda) - you can get 12 in the grand to make superb little buns!

Thanks Annie, I'll keep my eye out for the silicon cupcake cases and my local pound store for teflon liner.
